A charming 1920s Elgin pocket watch and chain.

The pocket watch has a jewelled stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Elgin Natl Watch Co, USA and it has the serial number 28,316,459 which dates it back to 1924. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled, made by the Keystone Watch Case Company, and was originally 'guaranteed to wear 10 years'. The front and side of the case are in good condition the hinged case back has some unevenness.

The watch glass is in lovely condition.

The signed enamel dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
